You can generate users by adding records to this page or by importing them from the previously populated UserImportTemplate.csv file. See Importing .csv Files for instructions on how to import records.
NOTE: If your MiCollab system will use UCC Bundle licensing or Integrated Directory Services (IDS), the recommended "best practice" is to configure users using Roles and Templates in the MiCollab Users and Services application.
TIP: You can copy data from an Excel spreadsheet into this page.
To automatically generate users and services:
In the Add box, enter the number of users that you want to generate.
Click Add.
In the First
Name and Last Name
boxes, enter the names for the Telephone
Directory form.
Names are optional for all applications except
Speech Auto Attendant (See second Note below). If left blank, the
wizard inserts placeholders (default
user 1, default user 2,
etc.) on subsequent pages. You can replace the placeholders by typing
over them.
Add or remove services—Extension (Ext-1, Ext-2); Teleworker (TW); Dynamic Extension (DE-1, DE-2); DID; MiCollab Speech Auto Attendant (SAA); Voice Mail (VM-Emb or VM-MiCollab UM); or MiCollab Audio, Web, and Video (AWV)—as required, by selecting or clearing the associated check box.
NOTE: To configure standard Hot Desk Users or MiCollab Client users, select Extension (Ext-1, Ext-2). For External Hot Desk Users, select DE-1, DE-2 or both. Each DE corresponds to an external device—for example, a personal cell phone and home phone.
Click Next to continue.
NOTES
To assign the MiCollab Audio, Web, and Video (AWV) service to a user using the MiCW, you must first assign the user an Extension, Teleworker service, or Dynamic Extension service. Note that you can create a user with AWV service only and no phone service through the MiCollab Administrator portal.
To assign Speech Auto Attendant, Extension, Teleworker service, or Dynamic Extension (DE-1, DE-2) must be selected.
Last Name and First Name must be entered for SAA users. Valid characters are A-Z, a-z, space, dash, comma, and apostrophe. Numeric digits are not supported.
New users will not be added to the SAA directory immediately. To see an updated directory, you can wait for the nightly MiCollab Nupoint UM Auto Update, or you can force an update using the MiCollab Nupoint UM Data Source sync function. For more information, refer to the Update the User Data Source topic in the MiCollab Nupoint UM online help.
When the Extension and Teleworker services are both selected, the other services (if selected) will be linked to the Extension. If there is no Extension service, the other services link to Teleworker Phone service. If there is neither Extension nor Teleworker service, they link to the Dynamic Extension service.
A default PIN is assigned to every user added to the wizard. The PIN matches the user's prime contact number (minus * and # characters).
You can enable or disable a service for all users at once by clicking the check box in the Service column header. To sort the list, click a column header.
By default, the MiCollab system sends a Welcome E-mail to each generated user with the user's communication settings, including login ID, password, and TUI passcode.
You can import multiple csv files. Each file imported is appended to the last entry in the table. The table displays only a subset of fields in the csv files, although the data in them is applied when the configuration is implemented. Unsupported devices in the imported file do not display and so cannot have services assigned to them. The devices, however, are saved into a new csv file, which can then be used to import those users using the System Administration Tool or the Advanced Configuration page of the wizard. Any required services must be assigned using the System Administration Tool and MiCollab Administration portal.
NOTES
The voice mail field in the csv file applies to the Voice Mail service (Embedded Voice Mail or MiCollab Nupoint UM) that is currently selected.
Importing users that were previously assigned services with the Configuration Wizard is not supported as data exported from the User and Services Configuration form contains only a subset of the service-related data.
Imported user data is modified as required to support additional services or features provisioned in the wizard. These include changes to COS, Call Coverage Services (for voice mail), and phone service level (for group membership).
If you do not select an application on the "Application Resources and Options" page, but the UserImportTemplate.csv file includes a user with a service for that application, then that service will not be imported into the wizard. In addition, if required fields for a service are omitted for a user, the service for the user will remain blank in the wizard after the import.
By default, the MiCollab system sends a Welcome E-mail to each generated user with the user's communication settings, including login ID, password, and TUI passcode.
When importing from the spreadsheet, the older files that have ‘YES’ in the Voice Mail field are interpreted as Embedded Voice Mail.
CSV files generated from exporting the User and Service Configuration form in the System Administration Tool or from the MiVoice Business Import Spreadsheet cannot be imported in to MiCW.
To import users and devices from a .csv file:
Click Import.
Enter the name of the .csv file.
Click Open.
Click Next to continue.
The following 3300 ICP/MiVoice Business and MiCollab configuration data is generated automatically:
COS 11 for Extension users.
Note: Users with voice mail service that have Record-A-Call enabled
are assigned COS 13. (Record-A-Call for the Voice Mail service is
enabled on the previous page and assigned to users on a subsequent
page.)
COS 15 for Dynamic Extension users and COS 16 for Dynamic Extension users with Voice Mail and Record-A-Call.
COR 1 for all users
Desktop Tool Access: No
Propagation to the telephone directory (unless no user name provided)
If embedded voice mail is enabled, Call Rerouting First Alternative: 3 (all settings to "This" with the pilot number as the directory number)
User profiles are created for all MiCollab application users. A login ID (user name and password) for each user is generated from the user's last name and first name initial—for example, the ID for John Doe is doej. A suffix digit is added if the combined name and initial is not unique. Thus, the ID generated for Jane Doe is doej2.
If there are multiple MiCollab servers, a user profile with the same login ID is created on each server.
When both 'First Name' and 'Last Name' fields are blank, the login ID is "userNNN" where NNN is the user's extension number—for example, user1001.
NOTE: If a MiCollab application user originating from an imported csv file has Desktop Tool Access enabled, a user authorization profile will be created on the 3300 ICP/MiVoice Business. The login ID for that profile may not match the user's ID on the MiCollab server.
